TIL people confuse 'they're' with 'their' in professional emails more than I thought
I work in admin at a small law firm in Portland, and last week I counted 7 emails from clients mixing up 'your' and 'you're.' It matters because one client wrote 'your late' instead of 'you're late' and the partner thought it was an insult. Has anyone else noticed basic grammar slipping in workplace messages?

People have gotten lazy. It's not just grammar either. Watch how people text now. Half my friends send voice notes instead of typing because they can't be bothered to spell things out. I see it in signs around town too. Menus with misspellings. Storefronts with punctuation in the wrong spot. It's a snowball effect. One person stops caring then everyone stops caring. We're basically living in a world where nobody proofreads anything anymore.

oh man that's nothing, I saw a memo from our office manager once that said "the parking lot is for employee's only" and I still don't know if she meant one employee or all of us
