Warning: I asked a guy at the DMV why my photo came out so bad and his answer surprised me
I was at the DMV in Boise last Tuesday waiting 2 hours for a new license when the clerk handed me my photo and I almost laughed. My eyes were half shut and there was a weird glare across my forehead. I asked her why they always look so bad and she said the camera sits lower than most people's eyes, so everyone looks slightly down. Then a guy in line behind me said he used to take license photos and the trick is to lean your chin forward just a bit and look at the lens, not the little sticker they point at. I tried it at the next window when they offered a retake and it came out so much better. Now I'm wondering how many other boring places have tricks like this that nobody tells you. Does anyone else have a story where a random stranger gave you advice that actually worked?
