lol so you had to choose between actually observing and fixing gear, thats cruel. which part of the mount failed, was it something stupid like a stripped screw or a software hiccup? i feel like ive been in that spot before where i spent an hour messing with a cable instead of just enjoying the sky.

Funny you mention that @jamesroberts, because I used to think gear fussing was just part of the hobby and you had to power through it. But one night I spent two hours trying to fix a dodgy power cable instead of just watching the stars, and it honestly made me rethink everything. Now I just bring a backup battery and call it a night if something messes up.
