My telescope mount died mid-photo stack of Andromeda last Saturday

Was 45 minutes into a 2 hour exposure sequence and the motor just seized up. Anybody else have their mount fail at the worst possible moment?

45 minutes into a 2 hour sequence" that is brutal, I feel your pain for real.

Feel like that's just how the universe works though, isn't it. Your gear always waits until you're fully committed to break. Same thing happens with my lawnmower right when I'm halfway done with the backyard or my car decides to act up when I'm already running late for work. It's like the universe sees you invested in something and goes "alright, time to throw a wrench in it." At least with astrophotography you can try again next week, unless the clouds roll in for a month straight like they always do.

My brother's old Ford Focus had this weird thing where it would only stall out at specific intersections, like it knew when you were in a hurry. Ray_miller84 mentioned 45 minutes into a 2 hour sequence, and that reminds me of the time I spent a whole Saturday rebuilding a carburetor only to find out I'd put the gasket in backwards. The universe definitely has a sense of humor, just not a very nice one.
