Realized my phone pics of the moon were trash compared to a used DSLR
For like 5 years I kept zooming in with my iPhone thinking it looked fine until my buddy showed me a photo he took with a $200 Canon from 2011. The craters actually had shadows and texture instead of just a blurry white blob. Anyone else make the jump from phone to a real camera and feel dumb for waiting?

Oh yeah BIG time. I did the exact same thing with my Samsung for years thinking the night mode was fine until I grabbed a cheap used Nikon from a pawn shop and nearly fell over when I saw the difference. The first time I actually saw the craters and the texture of the moon's surface I honestly felt a little stupid for waiting so long to spend the money.

Ha @dianahayes, I read somewhere phone sensors are just too tiny for good moon shots no matter the software.
