Remember when you had to pick between film and digital for astro photos?
Back around 2005, I had to choose between buying a new film camera body for my telescope or saving up for one of those early digital SLRs. I went with the digital one, a Canon 20D, and it was a game changer because I could see my shots right away instead of waiting for a lab. Anyone else make that switch and remember how weird it felt at first?

Tell me about it... I stuck with film way too long out of pure stubbornness. Had a whole fridge drawer full of slide film that probably went bad waiting for the "perfect" night. The first time I deleted a bad digital shot instead of wasting a whole roll on it, I felt like I'd cheated somehow.

Weird is the right word... I actually missed the surprise of getting film back from the lab. Digital felt a bit too instant, like the magic was gone for a while.

My local record store is packed with people buying vinyl for that same delayed-gratification feeling.
