Saturn looked like a wobbly blob in my photos last night

I spent all evening setting up for a perfect shot of Saturn. The atmospheric seeing was HORRIBLE and made everything fuzzy. Read that planetary imaging needs super steady air, which is rare here. It's annoying when you can't control the sky. But I'm still pumped to try again on a calmer night.

Prefer waiting for calm air over stacking, @the_joseph.

Last year in Texas, I got similar blob-like Saturn shots. I found that stacking multiple frames really helped clean up the image. Do you process your photos after taking them?

Oh wow, stacking is everything. I always process my shots. My first tries were just blurry balls. Stacking frames cuts the noise and sharpens things up. I use free software like Registax. Makes a world of difference for planet pics.
