That one perfect Friday night in Joshua Tree gave me my best astro shot ever
I drove out there expecting clouds, but the air stayed totally still and the Milky Way was so sharp you could almost touch it, and now I'm scared I'll never get conditions that good again has anyone else had a night that set the bar impossibly high?

Doesn't that just make the whole thing feel more real though? Having that one perfect night makes all the other nights worth it, and it's proof you can actually get those conditions, not just a pipe dream. Honestly I'd rather have one shot like that than a bunch of mediocre ones I didn't really care about.

Exactly, that perfect night becomes the measuring stick for everything else, it proves the magic is legitimately possible even if you don't get it every time. Those mediocre nights blend together but that one great memory gives you something solid to hang onto.
