Took me 3 hours to figure out my star trails were ruined by a porch light, not my polar alignment
Spent 3 hours last Saturday night in my backyard near Dayton trying to get 45 minute star trail shots, and every single frame came out washed out on the left side. I kept redoing my polar alignment and checking the mount, thinking my tracking was off. Turns out my neighbor's porch light kicks on at 11pm every night and was bouncing off my lens hood the whole time. Has anyone found a hood or shield setup that actually blocks that side glare without making the whole rig too heavy?
