Tried shooting the moon with a $20 vintage lens off eBay

The thing was so soft and hazy I almost trashed the photos, but after a quick dehaze slider bump in editing, the craters actually popped like crazy. Anyone else mess with old glass for lunar shots and get surprised?

@daniel_martin I had the same foggy window problem with a vintage Takumar, but @alexk60's point about haze made me clean mine.

Hang on, I actually had the opposite experience. Tried a vintage 50mm on my moon shots and it was so soft I felt like I was looking through a foggy window, no amount of editing could save the detail.

That 50mm lens might have haze or fungus inside @daniel_martin, common in old glass.
