A guy at the parts counter in Fresno asked me if I could just 'paint over' a hole the size of a dinner plate.
He was dead serious, holding a fender with a massive rust crater, and said 'My buddy with a rattle can said it'll fill right in' which made me laugh so hard I almost dropped my coffee.

Oh man, that reminds me of my cousin who tried to fix a dent with just bondo and no sanding. Looked like a topographical map of the moon when he was done.
