Found a quick fix for aluminum panel warping on a Chevy Silverado door
Had a 2019 Silverado door with real bad warping after the customer tried to straighten it themselves. Instead of the usual heat and hammer method, I used dry ice packs on the backside while pulling from the front with a slide hammer. Took about 20 minutes total and the panel sat flat. Anyone else tried cold shrinking on aluminum body panels?

Gotta push back on this one. Cold shrinking on aluminum is risky business, especially on a Silverado door where the panel's already been mangled by a DIY attempt. The dry ice might fix the warp temporarily, but you're setting yourself up for stress cracks down the road, because aluminum doesn't like sudden temperature changes like steel does (it's way more finicky). I'd rather spend the extra hour doing careful heat and hammer work, even if it's slower, than have the customer coming back in six months with a split panel and a bad attitude.

Totally agree with @harper_foster, that's EXACTLY how I see it too.

Funny you mention that, I remember reading a thread on a metalworking forum where a guy tried dry ice on an aluminum hood and the panel actually cracked within a year. Makes me think Harper's caution is smart, especially on something as dent-prone as a truck door.
