Just realized my coworker was right about sanding dry vs wet on this BMW

I used to think wet sanding was always the way to go for a glass-smooth finish. But after a shop foreman in Nashville pointed out how much time I was wasting waiting for panels to dry, I tried dry sanding with 1500-grit on a 2018 3-series bumper. It cut my repair time by 30 minutes and the paint still laid down perfect. Has anyone else ditched wet sanding for certain jobs?

Wet sanding is just a fancy way to take longer, am I right?

My arms sure felt the difference after 20 minutes of wet sanding that bumper.

You are right" lol my buddy tried wet sanding once and spent like 2 hours on a door panel. His arms were toast but honestly the paint came out looking like glass. I still just stick to dry sanding and call it good enough.
