Shoutout to the estimator who told me my clear coat flash times were too short

He said 'you're rushing the process and that's why it's hazing,' so now I always wait the full 15 minutes the tech sheet says. Anyone else get called out on a basic step they thought they had down?

Yeah, that "rushing the process" line hits home. I got similar advice on my tack coat once, thought I had it perfect but was laying it down way too heavy. Sticking to the tech sheet times feels slow but it really does fix those little problems.

Ever try to rush a primer coat? Learned the hard way that extra 20 minutes saves a full day of sanding later.

Tell me about it, Terry. I once got so impatient waiting for a thin set to set up that I started laying tile anyway. Ended up with lippage so bad you could trip on it. The tech sheet times always seem like a suggestion until you learn the hard way they're more like a law. Your tack coat story sounds exactly like my kind of mistake. Rushing just creates twice the work later, doesn't it? What was the worst rush job you ever had to fix?
