Switched from bondo to glaze coat on headlight lenses after 8 years in the game

Used to just sand and spray clear over headlights with a rattle can. Customer would be back in 3 months with yellowed lenses again. Started using a UV blocking glaze coat from 3M about a year ago and haven't had a single redo since. Anyone else find a product that actually sticks around longer than the cheap stuff?

Sanded and used the 3M glaze coat on mine two years back, still clear as day. The UV blockers make all the difference over the cheap stuff.

...and I gotta say @susan649, yours might be clear after two years but I'm not convinced it's all the product. Could be you just park in a garage or live somewhere with less sun. I've seen guys swear by that ceramic coating stuff too, only to have it flake off after one winter of road salt and snow. The real test is if someone does this on a daily driver that sits outside in Arizona or Florida for a few years. UV blockers help for sure, but I've also had customers come back with the same glaze coat peeling at the edges because they didn't scuff the lens right before applying it. Prep work is half the battle no matter what you put on top, and half the people rushing through this job skip the fine grit sanding step.

Prep work is half the battle my buddy learned the hard way after his glaze coat peeled off in a month.
