That cheap paint gun I bought off Amazon burned me hard
I figured I'd save some cash last month and grabbed a $60 HVLP gun from one of those generic brands. Figured how bad could it be for a small bumper repair on a 2010 Civic. First pass looked okay but then the pattern started spitting and I got a ton of orange peel. Spent like 3 hours sanding it back down and redoing the clear coat. Ended up having to borrow my buddy's Devilbiss to finish the job right. The cheap gun is now sitting in my trash can. Anyone else waste money on a budget tool that just made more work for you?

Gotta gently push back on the "HVLP" claim though. Most of those cheap guns are just regular siphon feed with an HVLP sticker slapped on. Proper HVLP uses high volume low pressure, those budget ones barely do either right.

lol that reminds me of the time my neighbor bought a cheap ultrasonic cleaner off ebay for cleaning carburetors. thing worked for like 10 minutes then just started making this awful screeching noise and filled the garage with smoke. he was so mad he threw it across the yard.
