That chemical smell after a burn pile nearly fooled me on a Chevy
Had a 2018 Silverado come in last week, owner swore it was a burnt clutch. Turned out a mouse nest under the intake was baking on the manifold, smelled almost identical. Has anyone else chased a phantom smell for hours only to find it was something dumb like that?

Man that sucks, spent a whole afternoon hunting something similar once and it turned out to be a melted leaf on the exhaust. You get so convinced it's one thing and then it's just nature being annoying.
