Thought traditional paint was always better until a buddy showed me his waterborne job
I was all about solvent based paint for years, swore it was the only way to get a deep shine. Then my friend painted a 2003 Honda Civic with waterborne and it looked perfect after 6 months no clear coat failure. Anyone else had that switch up on what they thought was legit?

six months ain't that long though, is it really time to throw away the solvent guns and start over? feels like everybody gets one good waterborne job and suddenly it's the second coming.

Three years of siding work under my belt and I was the same way, wouldn't touch waterborne. Then a painter I know showed me a kitchen cabinet job he did with it two years ago, still looks perfect with no yellowing. Makes me wonder if I was just scared of changing. You felt that shift too?
