Tried the heat gun trick on a dented fender instead of pulling it, and the result was not what I expected
Honestly I had a 2014 Civic in the bay with a palm sized dent right on the rear quarter and the owner did not want to pay for a full pull. Tbh I grabbed my heat gun and a can of compressed air like I saw on some video, heated it for about 90 seconds and hit it with the upside down can. Ngl it popped most of the dent out in one shot, maybe 80 percent gone, but it also cooked the clear coat in a spot the size of a credit card. The owner was fine with it but I stood there looking at that dull patch realizing I traded one problem for another. Took me 20 minutes of wet sanding and polish to blend it back and it still was not perfect. Has anyone here made the heat and cold thing work without wrecking the paint, or is it just not worth it on anything with clear coat?
