Vent: Customer argued with me about his paint match for 20 minutes
Had a guy bring in a 2015 Toyota Camry last Tuesday, wanted me to match the pearl white on his rear bumper. I showed him the chip chart and explained how metallics shift in different light, but he kept telling me the sample I mixed looked too yellow. After 20 minutes of back and forth, I sprayed a test card and held it against his door in direct sun, and he finally admitted it was spot on. Has anyone else had customers who think they know paint better than you do?

20 minutes over a Camry pearl white? Bro, I would've lost my cool after five. Honestly, some people just watch too many YouTube detailer videos and think they're experts. At least you proved him wrong with the test card in the sun. I've had to do that more times than I can count, usually with some guy who bought the wrong gloss level at the auto parts store and wants to argue about it.

Watched a guy at the local O'Reilly's argue with the counter kid for ten minutes about how his 2004 Accord needed "ceramic coating, not that cheap wax stuff." The kid just pointed at the label and said "sir, this is Turtle Wax, it's $8.99." Sometimes people get so wrapped up in the lingo they forget what they actually need. I think it comes from watching too many YouTube videos where everything has to be this big production with special chemicals and microfiber towels. But at the end of the day, a proper wash and a decent wax job on a clean car will beat half that nonsense any day of the week.
