Always skipped dielectric grease, but a frozen battery terminal changed my tune.

Skipped it myself until a terminal froze. Now I keep a tube handy.

Two years ago during that brutal cold snap, my car wouldn't start at all. I always thought dielectric grease was just extra stuff you didn't really need. But after chiseling ice off the battery terminals for an hour, I had to admit I was wrong. Now I smear a little on every connection, and it's one less thing to worry about. Why do we always learn the hard way with this stuff?

After reading @nora_park's story about the frozen terminal, it makes me wonder. How many of us put off simple fixes until they turn into big problems? Like ignoring brake fluid changes until the pedal feels spongy, or skipping cabin air filters until the car smells like a gym bag. What about tire rotations? I've seen people run tires bald because they forgot. Is it just laziness, or do we really think we can get away with it? I'm guilty of it too, always learning after the fact.
