Original parts vs aftermarket on old Jeeps - which way do you go?

I've been rebuilding a 97 Wrangler 4.0 and spent $600 on Mopar sensors that all failed within 6 months, then swapped to $200 worth of NTK and Denso stuff that's been solid for 2 years now. So much for "stick with OEM" - has anyone else seen the name brand stuff get worse while the competition steps up?

Have you tried the Crown Automotive stuff for hard parts yet? Ran a set of their control arms on my 98 TJ for like 40k miles with zero issues, way cheaper than Mopar. I learned the hard way that OEM sensors are hit or miss now, same story with my camshaft position sensor. After burning $150 on a Mopar one that quit in a month, I grabbed a Standard Motor Products unit from the local parts store and it has been fine for over two years. Sometimes you just have to find what actually works for your specific rig instead of following the hype.

Hold on, you paid $150 for a Mopar sensor that died in a MONTH? That is absolutely WILD and I would have been LIVID.
