That seized caliper bolt I fought for 45 minutes on a 2002 Tacoma in Phoenix last Tuesday

Turns out a little heat from my propane torch and a 6-point socket broke it free after PB Blaster failed completely, has anyone else found a better trick for rusted brake hardware on older Toyotas?

Man that heat trick is the real deal. I had the same nightmare on a 2001 Tundra last summer here in Tucson, PB Blaster did nothing but my little Bernzomatic torch and a 6 point socket popped it off like butter. I also started using anti-seize on the threads after that and it's been smooth sailing every time since.

Wait, you called it a "2001 Tundra" but I didn't know they even made those yet in 2001? @uma_ellis I thought the first Tundras came out in 2000 or something, you sure it's not a T100?

I heard a buddy say once that hitting the bolt head with a hammer before trying heat can break the rust seal. He swore by it on his '99 4Runner out in Arizona. Might be worth a try if the torch alone isn't doing the trick.
