Thought I had to replace the whole assembly, but a single bushing fixed it

The clunk was driving me nuts. Found the worn bushing by wiggling the control arm by hand.

See that's what gets me, people always assume the worst right away. They hear a noise and their mind goes straight to the biggest, most expensive part. But half the time it's just some little thing like a bushing that's completely worn down. You have to actually get under there and check the simple stuff first before you panic. The real skill is knowing how to wiggle things and listen for what's loose. Saves so much money and time when you figure it out.

Found that out with my old truck's squeak, just a loose heat shield rattling around.

That wiggle and listen skill gets better the more you use it.
