Warning: my uncle said skip the enclosed trailer for my move from Buffalo, and I lost a side mirror in Ohio
My uncle has moved cars a dozen times so when he told me to save a few hundred bucks and go with an open carrier from Buffalo to Denver, I believed him. Two days in, the driver called and said my car was fine, then when it showed up the driver side mirror was cracked and there was a fresh scrape on the door. I filed a claim and got $420 back after three weeks, which barely covered the mirror. The trailer was packed nose to tail with six other cars and mine was right behind a lifted pickup kicking up rocks the whole way. Next time I'm paying extra for enclosed no matter what anyone says, but has anyone actually had a smooth open carrier run, or is that just luck?
