A lead bench guy told me I was soldering too hot, changed my whole process
During a bench repair on a King radio at KPAE last Tuesday, he pointed out my joints had that dull, cracked look and said I was cooking the insulation before the solder flowed. I backed my iron temp down from 750 to 650 and started tinning the wire first, and my rework rate on old wiring harnesses dropped noticeably. Has anyone else had a simple tip like that totally shift how you approach a task you thought you knew?
