Debate: That perfect shift where every test passed vs the nightmare week I had last month

I had a shift last week where every single radio check came back clean and not a single pin was bent, but back in February I spent three days straight re-terminating a bad harness on a Cessna. Which kind of week do you think taught me more about this trade?

Stick with me on this - would you rather have that nightmare week again or take the perfect shift if you had to choose one to repeat for the rest of your career?

Nightmare week without hesitation. That bad stretch taught me way more than any easy shift ever could. Every perfect day just blurs together eventually.

Last time I had a nightmare week was three years ago, and yeah it sticks with you more than any easy day ever could. But here's the thing @stellanelson - you can't just pick one or the other for your whole career like that. That perfect shift you're talking about? It wouldn't feel perfect if you never had the bad ones to compare it to. The easy weeks are fine but they don't really teach you anything you'll remember six months later. The rough stretches are where you figure out who you can count on and what you're actually made of. Not saying you're wrong, just that "perfect week" is kind of a myth when you're working in the real world.
