FLIR camera showed a bad solder joint that static tests missed

Went to check a 737 NG rudder actuator issue last week and pulled out my FLIR E8-XT just to see if anything looked off. Found a cracked ground pad on the power supply board that would have taken hours to trace with a meter. The thermal image showed it getting hot right at the fault spot, 118 degrees F. Has anyone else had luck using thermal cams for finding intermittent stuff in the avionics bay before you start pulling racks?

Did you catch it with the lens zoomed in on specific boards, or were you just sweeping the whole bay till something popped out? I keep wondering if I need a better lens for getting close to tiny joints.
