I stopped by the air museum in Pensacola and saw a wiring harness setup that made me think.
They had an old F-4 Phantom cockpit open, and the way they routed the avionics cables behind the instrument panel was super clean. Used a lot of those old style Adel clamps every six inches, no sharp bends anywhere. Made me wonder if anyone still uses that method for new installs or if it's all zip ties now.

What do you think holds up better, a zip tie or a proper clamp? That old school routing looks like it was built to survive a crash, not just look tidy for a week. Modern installs feel cheap by comparison.

Yeah @hannah_perry you're totally right. It's like they built stuff to last back then, not just to look good in a photo. A proper metal clamp won't crack in the cold or get brittle after a year like plastic zip ties. That old routing might look messy but it can take a real hit without everything snapping off. Feels like we traded real toughness for just looking clean for a minute.

Honestly that "built to last" thing hits hard. My grandpa's old toolbox has clamps from the 70s that still work perfect, while I'm replacing zip ties on my bike every season.
