Just realized I was torquing BNC connectors on a 2019 King Air by feel for 6 months
Last Tuesday I was doing an avionics rack check at our shop in Wichita, and a new guy asked me what torque spec I use on the antenna connectors. I said I just snug them until they feel tight, and he pulled out the manual and showed me it calls for 25 inch-pounds. I grabbed our shop's torque wrench, checked the last panel I had buttoned up, and two of the four connectors were way under spec. Went back through the log sheets from the past 6 months and found 11 aircraft I signed off on with nothing but a feel check on those connectors. Anyone else catch themselves skipping the manual on stuff they've done a hundred times, or is it just me?
