Old timer told me to ditch my multimeter leads last week, wish I listened sooner
A guy at the hangar said my test leads were causing intermittent readings on a G1000 harness, figured he was just being picky. Turned out the internal wire was breaking inside the silicone jacket and giving me false shorts during troubleshooting. Anyone else run into bad leads messing up a diagnosis on a King Air?

Oh man, that's rough... bad leads can drive you crazy chasing ghosts in the system. Glad you caught it before pulling your hair out on that King Air.

Read a tech blog saying some King Airs got phantom faults from corroded pins in the cannon plugs.

Buddy of mine spent three days tearing apart a 350 and it was just a loose pin in a cannon plug. He said the corrosion looked like green dust inside the connector shell. Finally swapped the whole harness and the faults just vanished.
