Pro tip: the $220 pin kit I bought for cannon plugs paid for itself in two hangars
I do mostly connector work on the flight line and I kept borrowing the shop's old pin kit, which was missing half the sizes anyway. So I dropped $220 on my own set with the plastic positioners and the removal tools, and it has been the single best buy of my career so far. Last Tuesday I re-pinned a 38999 connector on a King Air in about 20 minutes instead of fighting with a paperclip and a prayer. The one bad buy was a $30 crimper from a big box site that mashed two pins in a row, and I went back to the Daniels frame the same day. Anyone else build their own kit for stuff like this, or do you just live with whatever the shop has in the drawer?
