Question about those cheap crimpers from the online marketplace
Bought a set for like $40 to save cash on a side job. The jaws were so soft they mangled every single D-sub pin, cost me two hours redoing the whole connector. What's a decent brand that won't trash my work?

The real cost is in the scrap bin. Those bad crimps waste more in ruined pins and connectors than a decent tool costs upfront. I learned that the hard way on a small batch of custom cables last year.

Yeah those cheap crimpers are the worst, they just crush everything. I've had good luck with the IWISS brand, their basic one is solid for the price. It's not pro level but it actually crimps without ruining the pins.

Wait you actually got an IWISS crimper to work? Mine was total junk, it wouldn't even close straight. The jaws were so off they just mangled every connector I tried.
