Switched from twist-on connectors to a crimp tool after a job in Atlanta

Used to spend 20 minutes per panel fighting those wire nuts in tight spaces. Tried a Deutsch crimper last month on a King Air install and cut install time by half. Anyone else ditch the old methods for crimp connectors on pitot-static systems?

... I don't know, I've had too many crimps pull loose in high-vibration spots like near the engine mounts. Had a 421 last month where a factory-crimped connector started giving intermittent readings on the static system, had to tear half the panel out to find it. Maybe I'm old school but I still feel safer with a good twist-on and some pull testing.

Absolutely agree. Had a crimp let go on a static line in a Baron a few years back, same deal - had to rip half the interior out to find it. I'll take a good twist-on and a pull test any day, especially in spots that vibrate.

Switched over last year and never looked back. Crimps are way more consistent in tight spots.
