Terminal strip vs D-sub for a 10-day field repair, I know what I'm picking now

Pulled a weathered D-sub apart next to a tarmac in Phoenix last Tuesday and the pins were green with corrosion, but the old terminal strip next to it just needed a wire brush and 20 minutes, has anyone else switched back to strips for quick turnaround jobs?

Phoenix humidity does that to everything, but I once fixed a radio with a paperclip and a lighter there.
