Went from analog gauges to glass cockpits over 15 years and it still feels weird sometimes

I got my start in 2008 working on old Cessna 172s with steam gauges. Back then I spent hours troubleshooting vacuum pumps and gyros. Now I work on Garmin G1000 systems and it's all software updates and screen cleaning. The troubleshooting process changed so much. A 20 year old bird used to take me 3 days to find a bad connection. Now I hook up a laptop and find it in 20 minutes. Anyone else miss the simplicity of analog, or am I just old?

Switched over myself around 2010 and still catch myself reaching for a hand held compass before I look at the GPS. The laptop thing is wild though, saves so much time compared to chasing wires all day.

2010 was a good year. Bet you still check your wristwatch before looking at your phone too.
