Saw a $700 day trading course pitch that left me skeptical

I sat through a 30-minute Zoom pitch from some guy named Derek who claimed he made $14,000 last month using his "secret algorithm." But when I asked him about his win rate over a 3-year stretch, he dodged the question completely and started talking about mindset. Am I crazy for thinking that anyone selling shortcuts in babble finance is probably just making money off the course itself? Anyone else notice how these gurus never show long-term verified statements?

Met Derek last year and his "secret" was just buying low and selling high like every other basic course.

Went to one of his weekends in Phoenix and walked out feeling like I just sat through a 3 hour infomercial for his own coaching program. He spent like 45 minutes talking about his "proprietary system" and then just showed us how to scroll through Zillow. Honestly felt bad for the people in the front row who paid for the VIP package.
