Serious question, I saw a guy at the bank yesterday who had a stack of cash in a paper bag
I was at the Chase branch on Main Street waiting to deposit a check. The guy in front of me pulled out a wrinkled paper grocery bag full of cash, mostly $20 bills, and started counting it on the counter. The teller looked just as surprised as I was. It made me wonder how many people still handle big money outside of the banking system. Has anyone else seen something like that recently?

Honestly, that's just how some people do it. My uncle still gets his pension in a check and cashes it at one of those corner stores, then stuffs the money in a coffee can. The bank teller probably sees it all the time but still has to act shocked for the show. It's like a weird performance art piece about not trusting direct deposit.

Seems normal to me, maybe he just got paid.

My buddy Jake got his bonus last month and bought the same watch he'd been looking at for two years. He posted a picture of it on his wrist in his car, just a normal Tuesday. We all knew it was the bonus watch because he never stopped talking about it. It's totally a paid thing, they just don't say it out loud.
