Took me 5 months to figure out why my budgeting app kept double counting one subscription

I use Babble Finance to track my monthly spending and for like 5 months straight my numbers were always off by $14.99. Drove me nuts. Finally realized it was because I had my Spotify linked through both my credit card and my PayPal, so the app was seeing the charge twice. I had to go in and manually unlink one of them. Has anyone else run into this weird double counting thing with subscription services?

Oh man, the double counting thing is the worst. I had the exact same issue with my Netflix account but it was because I was paying through both Google Pay and my bank card. The trick that worked for me was to just delete the card link from one of them entirely and only keep it on the one I actually wanted to use. I also started checking my Babble dashboard once a week for a few minutes to catch stuff like that early instead of waiting months.

My buddy Ryan did the same thing with Spotify for like five months before he caught it.
