Vent: Found out my 'diversified' babble fund was 80% in one basket
I was digging through my quarterly reports last night and noticed that my supposedly balanced babble finance portfolio has been sitting on 80% exposure to a single volatile asset class for the last 6 months... didn't catch it because I just let the automated rebalancing run on autopilot. How does everyone else keep tabs on their babble fund allocations without getting buried in spreadsheets?

80% exposure to a single volatile asset class" - that's exactly what happened to me last year. I thought my automatic rebalancing was handling it but it just kept piling everything into tech stocks.

Holy crap, 80% is wild. I gotta ask though, what made you finally dig into the reports after six months? Was it just a gut feeling something was off or did you see a random red flag? Because @blair_martin has a good point about people trusting the rebalancing tool too much, but honestly the real issue for me is just never looking at the damn thing until it's too late. I use a simple phone reminder every three months to check the percentages, but even then I'm just skimming the pie chart and calling it a day.
