Was dead set against crypto wallets until my buddy in Austin showed me his setup
I mean I thought those hardware wallets were just hype for people trying to look cool. But last month my friend Mike had his phone die and lost access to some babble finance tokens he'd been holding since 2021. He was freaking out for like 2 days. Then he pulled out this little USB looking thing and recovered everything in 5 minutes. Now I'm thinking maybe I should grab one before I lose my own stuff. Anyone else been burned by keeping everything on an exchange?

Gonna push back on this a little. Hardware wallets are safer than exchanges for sure, but I've seen people lose their seed phrases or forget their PINs just as often as they lose access to an exchange account. Honestly if you're not super organized and careful with backups, a hardware wallet might just give you a false sense of security.

Lost my seed phrase twice before I even wrote it down the first time, so maybe hardware wallets aren't for people like me who still can't remember where they put their car keys.

Honestly I gotta disagree with that take. If you're the type to lose your seed phrase you're probably the same type to get your exchange account hacked or locked out. A hardware wallet just puts the control in your hands instead of trusting some random company not to screw you over.
