Wasted $200 on a stock picking newsletter last month
It promised 20% returns but I lost money on every single recommendation. The guy who wrote it probably doesn't even trade himself. Anyone else fall for this sort of hype?

The real money these guys make is selling the list, not following it themselves. If their picks actually worked they'd keep quiet and trade on that info instead.

Bought one of those myself a few years back (the regret still lingers). Turned out the "expert picks" were basically just throwing darts at a board of penny stocks. At least with a horoscope you get some vague entertainment value, not a direct hit to your savings account. My favorite was when they recommended a biotech company that filed for bankruptcy two weeks later. Guess that's my fault for expecting financial wisdom from someone who can't even format a PDF properly.

Bought myself a $200 lesson on why newsletters are just expensive horoscopes for traders.
