Watched a guy on r/wallstreetbets triple his $1,200 and then lose it all in 11 days, and it got me thinking
Last month I was scrolling that sub just for laughs and saw this one post where a guy put $1,200 into some penny stock and rode it up to about $3,600 in like a week. He was posting screenshots every day and people in the comments were hyping him up, saying hold, this is going to $10. I checked back on the thread about 11 days later and he'd sold the whole thing for $890. The part that got me was he wasn't even mad, he said the win felt fake the whole time anyway and he was just glad it was over. I've been reading a lot of posts like that lately and the pattern seems to be the guys who actually keep money are the ones posting boring index stuff nobody upvotes. It's like the fun posts and the smart posts are two totally different groups. Curious if you all think it's just the loud ones washing out or if there's really something to that whole dopamine thing with the fancy plays.
