Can we talk about how my base weight dropped 4 pounds because of one stupid mistake
Went out on the Timberline Trail around Mt Hood about three weeks ago. Halfway through day two my hips were raw and I finally dumped my pack on a log to dig through it. Two things I never touched: a 2 pound camp chair and a full size pillow. Then it hit me. I was packing for car camping, not backpacking. Weighed the whole load when I got home and it was 31 pounds. Cut the chair, the pillow, and a spare stove I forgot about and I'm down to 27. What's the dumbest thing you keep hauling up the hill just because it's always been in your bag?
