Did the Timberline trail loop in Oregon last week
Finally completed the full Timberline trail loop around Mount Hood, took me 9 days. What caught me off guard was how different the terrain changed on the north side, like totally different feel from the south. Saw 3 marmots just hanging out on the rocks near the McNeil Point area. Anyone else notice how quiet it gets above the tree line on that stretch?

Tbh the north side felt like a totally different world, way more raw and exposed than the south. Spotted a family of marmots right near the same spot, was kinda surreal how still everything got up there.

Ha, those aren't marmots @diana_west27, they're actually groundhogs on that side.
