Hot take: I think people planning the Teton Crest Trail get the permit window wrong and miss out
After trying for three years, I finally got a permit by applying the second the online system opened at 8 AM Mountain Time, not the date everyone talks about, and I think a lot of folks miss that crucial detail.

Man, I used to be on the other side of this argument for the longest time. A couple of years back I would have told you the exact opposite was true. Seeing those results laid out, though, it's hard to ignore the pattern. It just clicks into place after you've watched it go wrong a few times yourself. Makes you wonder why the old way seemed so convincing before.
