Warning: the Eagle Rock loop in Arkansas looked nothing like my 2019 map last month
Heads up for anyone planning that route: the stretch past the third creek crossing got rerouted after the spring washouts, and my old GPX file sent me straight into a wall of blowdowns. I hiked it in 2019 and the trail was wide and clear, but last month it took me an extra 2 hours to cover that same 4 mile section. The marker posts are still there, they just don't match where the trail actually goes anymore, so download a newer track before you head out. Has anyone hiked it since May and found a clean way through, or should I just plan the detour on the forest road?
