Dropped $85 on a VHS player for my bad movie nights, now I'm split on if it was worth it
I found a working VCR at a flea market in Columbus last month for $85 because my whole bad movie night crew wanted to watch old tapes like Troll 2 the way they were meant to be seen. Half the group says it kills the vibe because tapes skip and tracking goes bad, while the other half says that fuzzy picture is half the fun and streaming makes these movies look too clean. Did spending real cash on dead tech make your bad movie nights better or did it just add one more thing to fix when company shows up?

Tracking issues are usually fixable though, that's the thing. Most of the time it's just a dirty head or the tape itself, not the player being junk. Clean the heads with a little rubbing alcohol and a q tip and half those skip problems go away.
