My buddy's take on Troll 2 totally flipped my opinion

I was over at a friend's house last Tuesday and we were talking about the worst movies we've seen. He said something like 'Troll 2 isn't a bad movie, it's a masterpiece of sincerity.' At first I thought he was joking, but then he explained how the actors are giving it their all, the director believed in his vision, and that's what makes it so fun to watch. It hit different because I always just laughed at it before, but now I see the heart behind the mess. Has anyone else had a bad movie click for them after hearing someone defend it like that?

My buddy said the same thing about The Room and now I actually enjoy watching it.

You ever just find yourself liking something ironically and then suddenly it's unironic? That happened with a buddy of mine and Birdemic. He started watching it to laugh at how bad it was but now he puts it on when he's feeling down and actually enjoys the whole thing. It's kind of wild how that works. The Room is definitely one of those movies that just grows on you after a while.

Agree it's a whole thing @ryantorres, kind of like how bad coffee at a diner starts tasting right after a while because you just accept it.
