My roommate and I had to pick between 'The Room' and 'Birdemic' for our first bad movie night.

We had a new projector and wanted to kick things off right. The choice came down to the legendary 'The Room' with its weird football scenes and 'oh hi Mark' lines, or 'Birdemic' with its clip art birds and wooden acting. We went with 'Birdemic' because we heard the sound effects were something else. Honestly, it was the right call. The scene where they just drive around for ten minutes had us in tears, and the attack with the birds that look like they're from a Windows 95 screensaver was unreal. We made a drinking game out of every jump scare, which was a bad idea because there are so many. Has anyone done a double feature with these two, and which one should we watch next?

Birdemic is the perfect first pick because it's so earnestly bad it loops back to being great. The Room feels more like a vanity project gone wrong, which is a different kind of funny. You should check out "Troll 2" next for the full classic bad movie experience.

Go with Troll 2 next. It has the same kind of pure, clueless energy as Birdemic. The "they're eating her" scene alone makes it worth it.
